Diglipur, a remote hamlet in North Andamans, hums with a sense of liveliness. Being an offbeat destination, the tourist influx is less as compared to its sister islands. The infrastructure is expanding gradually and still does not count as a luxurious place to stay. Owing to its eco-tourism, Diglipur houses a few guesthouses and resorts, with all the necessary amenities. It is advisable to pre-book the accommodation as the demand runs high among travellers. Here are a few recommendations on where to stay, when in Diglipur.
1. Turtle Resort- Located in Kalipur Beach, Turtle Resort is a government accommodation that provides spacious and well-kept rooms at a reasonable price. The property offers 11 rooms spread across two floors and is couple as well as family-friendly. The amenities include 24-hour front desk assistance, restaurant, garden, laundry and medical assistance. Some in-room amenities include a wardrobe, telephone, bed, separate sitting areas and attached bathrooms with a supply of hot/cold water.
2. Pristine Beach Resort- Located in Kalipur Beach, Pristine Beach Resort is a perfect and pristine eco-resort for your vacation. The amenities include garden, restaurant, room service and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi, and private parking at extra cost.
4. Titlee Guest House- Located in Diglipur Market, Titlee guest house was constructed in late 2013 with the aim of rendering the most dependable private settlement one can find in the market in Diglipur. Unlike Turtle Nest, Pristine, and Saddle Peak View, which requires travel, Titlee guest house lies right in the heart of Diglipur. Markets, restaurants and bus stops are at a walk-able distance from the property.
5. APWD Guest House- Located in Diglipur, New APWD Guest House offers comfortable accommodation at modest prices. Ideal for business and leisure travellers, the property lies in the heart of the island and offers amenities like an in-house restaurant that serves appetizing meals. The property provides basic travel information & assistance, local guides, reservations, pickup/drop facilities from airport/railway station/bus stand.
A gentle yet essential reminder for travellers is that they need to ensure bookings to stay in any of the accommodations in Diglipur as these places are mostly reserved well in advance. The most well-known amongst these is the Turtle Resort run by the Director of Tourism. Besides that, there is Pristine Beach Resort which presents travellers with eco-friendly huts, and Saddle Peak View Resort which grants visitors an unforgettable view of Saddle Peak. As mentioned above, several tourists prefer to stay at Kalipur, a little away from Diglipur, where the stay options are ample and the beach is a stone's throw away.
