About Viper Island

Viper Island Jail was built between 1864 and 1867 and stands as a haunting example of the unconquerable spirits of Indian freedom fighters. How To Reach Viper Island?

To reach Viper Island from Port Blair city, you can take a boat ride from the Phoenix Bay jetty inside the harbor. The boat trip takes about 20 minutes, and you'll enjoy the scenic views of the harbor during the journey. Once you reach Harbor Cruise, you'll have the opportunity to explore different points of the harbor before heading to Viper Island. The road journey, combined with the boat ride, takes approximately 45 minutes to reach the island.
